NA-154 Election Lodhran Tribunal Result 26th Aug, 2015
ISLAMABAD SAMAA.TV : NA-154 Election Lodhran Tribunal Result 26th Aug, 2015 Will Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) lose its third wicket today to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as claimed confidently by PTI Chairman Imran Khan?
Election Tribunal (ET) will make public on Wednesday its ruling on a petition regarding the vote fraud in NA-154 Lodhran filed by PTI’s Jahangir Khan Tareen.
It should be mentioned here that Siddique Baloch notched up NA-154 seat in May 2013 general elections as an independent candidate. He later joined PML-N ranks.
Baloch bagged 86,177 votes followed by 75,955 by Tareen, who accused Baloch of rigging in the elections and challenged his educational degree too.
On May 21, 2014, Justice Rana Zahid Mehmood ordered the verification of ballots with thumb impressions through National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
In pursuance of the court order, the NADRA submitted a report to the tribunal on October 28.
The tribunal held 131 hearings of the case so far.
But, Baloch brought stay order on the ruling by Multan bench of the high court.
However, Supreme Court on June 6 upheld the ET ruling regarding the thumb imprints verification.
Separately, PML-N’s Sardar Ayaz Sadiq got elected from NA-122 by defeating PTI Chairman Imran Khan in the May 2013 general elections. But, Sadiq’s victory was questioned by Imran Khan.
Last week, the tribunal’s judge Kazim Ali Malik annulled the elections results of NA-122 and PP-147 and ordered re-vote. PML-N’s Mohsin Latif defeated PTI’s Shoaib Siddiqui in PP-147.
It is worth noting here that PTI demanded vote audit and re-polling in four constituencies i.e. NA-122, NA-125 (Lahore-VIII), NA-110 (Sialkot-I) and NA-154 (Lodhran-I).
Earlier, PTI won the NA-125 seat from railways minister Saad Rafique through ET ruling and termed it as their first vital wicket.
